Editorial Policy
Gold IRAs are a high-stakes financial topic. People considering them are often making decisions about their retirement savings — money they cannot easily replace. That is why we hold ourselves to strict editorial standards.
This page outlines how we research, write, review, and update the content on PrizeMining.
Key point
We never publish content based on marketing claims without independent verification. Every factual claim must be traceable to a primary source.
Research Methodology
Our research process starts with primary sources wherever possible:
- IRS publications and rulings for tax rules, contribution limits, and IRA regulations.
- Provider websites for fee schedules, minimum investments, product offerings, and company disclosures.
- SEC and FINRA filings for regulatory records and enforcement actions.
- Better Business Bureau and state attorney general records for complaint histories.
- Industry reports from recognized financial research organizations.
We do not rely on press releases, marketing materials, or provider-supplied claims without independent verification. When a provider claims something about their services, we look for evidence.
Fact-Checking Process
Every piece of content goes through a multi-step review before publication:
- Author research and drafting. The author gathers sources, verifies claims, and writes the initial draft.
- Source verification. All factual claims are checked against primary sources. Statistics, fee figures, regulatory details, and legal requirements must have a verifiable source.
- Expert review. A financial professional reviews the content for accuracy, appropriate context, and potential misleading implications — even if individual facts are technically correct.
- Final editorial review. The content is checked for clarity, readability, and adherence to these editorial standards.
Author and Reviewer Roles
Authors
Our authors are responsible for research, writing, and initial fact-checking. They have backgrounds in financial journalism, retirement planning, or related fields. Each article shows the author's name and a link to their profile, where you can see their credentials and expertise.
Reviewers
Our reviewers are credentialed financial professionals (such as CFPs or CPAs) who review content for accuracy and appropriate context. They ensure that our content does not oversimplify, omit important caveats, or present information in a misleading way. Each reviewed article identifies the reviewer.
Updates and Corrections
Financial information changes. Providers update their fees, the IRS adjusts contribution limits, and regulations evolve. We handle this in two ways:
- Scheduled reviews. High-traffic content and provider reviews are audited on a regular basis (at least quarterly for company reviews, annually for educational content) to confirm that key facts remain accurate.
- Reader-reported corrections. If a reader or provider notifies us of an error, we investigate and, if confirmed, correct the content promptly. All substantive corrections are noted on the page. See our Corrections Policy for details.
AI Usage Policy
We use AI tools to assist with certain parts of our editorial process, including:
- Initial research gathering and data organization
- Drafting content outlines
- Checking for consistency across related pages
- Identifying areas where content may need updating
AI does not make editorial decisions. Every piece of published content is written, reviewed, and approved by humans. Factual claims are verified by our authors and reviewers against primary sources — not generated by AI and assumed to be correct.
We believe AI can improve the speed and consistency of research, but human judgment is essential for financial content where context, caveats, and accuracy matter.
Conflict of Interest Policy
PrizeMining maintains strict separation between editorial and business operations. Our scoring methodology is public and auditable. Editorial staff operate independently.
To manage potential conflicts of interest:
- Editorial staff do not have access to business revenue data.
- Ratings are determined by our published methodology, not by revenue.
- We review and publish information about companies regardless of whether we have a business relationship with them.
